First up, I’m a DC Comics fan, lets get that out of the way from the start. However, I’m loving what Marvel Studios are doing with their films and want to start getting into some Avengers comics now. I was wondering where a good place to start would be?

You should have set this up as a question! But no, you really don’t need to read anything before civil war. A good comic arc will really give you the base details you need to know as you enjoy the story, and civil war does an excellent job. When I got into Marvel comics it really started with Civil War, and I went from there.
